When I worked at Fox we'd run into really strange problems that ended up being the result of a high ASCII character in a field, program file, etc. Since the problem doesn't occur until you reload the data from the ASCII file, I'd suspect that there's actually something in the data that's causing the corruption.

Good concept but its not the data. I just stripped everything out of my project except for the 5 problem tables and 5 very simple test forms. Now those same tables and forms work fine!

Previously I had rebuilt my DBC and this did not solve the problem.

So something I have done is fouling up VFP at a fairly low level. I suppose the way to proceed now is to put my project back together a few steps at a time testing as I go. Or perhaps it would be easier to restore it from backup and delete portions a few steps at a time while I test for the bug.

Are we having fun yet?
