Hi Arne,
I wouldn't take that as an insult. I've actually seen a lot of weird things happen with HP print drivers in the past so I know what you mean. Your suggestion made me try another test. You see my other pc is connected to different printer than the one I'm connected to. I have an HP5 connected to mine, while the other pc is connected to an hp4. So just for laughs I lugged the printer over to the other machine, and installed the most recent print driver from HP onto that machine. Then I tried printing again from that pc and it still wouldn't print the barcode. The only other facter is that I am running windows NT, while the other pc is running windows98. I know that the hp5 driver for NT is different than the one for win95/98, but I'm not sure how to test that whole scenario.
Incidentally, I just purchased another font from RiversEdge (
http://www.riversedge.com/) and that font worked like a charm. . .go figure. I would think that if you've seen one code39 barcode font you've seen them all, but I guess not. Again, I'm surprised that a company who advertises their font library so heavily on this VFP UT is selling a product that doesn't always work with VFP. . . As I said before the tech guy I spoke to said they have had numerous calls from vfp people about it. oh well, I've got what I need now. Thanks for your help. -Rick
>this may sound silly (and I don't mean to insult), but I had a similar problem. Turned out it was the default win printer driver on the second machine. Are you using the same driver in both cases?
