It almost seems to be connected to RAM hogging on the workstation but I can't duplicate it on other workstations which are running the exact same application, set up exactly the same way. The only difference between the applications is that each user has their own foxuser.dbf on their workstations.

Hi Linda,

I'm running a Win 98 box against a Novell 4.x server. Most of the problems I (and my users) experienced were connected with Client 32 and switching to the MS Client for Netware solved it.

I've noticed, however, usually long response times in doing such simple actions as opening a table. This despite the fact that it was only a 10 user network without a lot of traffic on it. Such problems didn't occur when running Win 95 against Netware 3.x. Additionally, other users (using Win 95) on other 4.x servers have had the same problems.

About the only other thing I can think of would be something like a backend server like Sybase excuting long queries that were passed to it and not executed as a stored procedure. This can also slow down network throughput.
George
