Hi Sebastiaan,

You should certainly be able to use an string functions on a character based property of your object such as x=len(allt(client.name)). Perhaps the property is not initialized to character? It defaults to logical. What is the error message you get? What is the line of code?

Now I can use the object anyway I want, but as soon as I want to use the contents of that property to do some text-editing (like doing a LEFT() or a LEN() function) I get an error message. I assume this is due to a difference in character data-types and object-property types.
