Hi Paul.
DevCon is *the* conference for VFP developers -- the speaker line-up is tops and you can't beat hanging out with a couple thousands developers for sharing ideas.
However, FoxTeach is significantly less expensive:
- the conference is several hundreds of dollars cheaper than DevCon
- the conference hotel is a regular hotel rather than a resort, so it's way cheaper
- it's in Canada, where the US dollar goes pretty far these days; for example, if the hotel room is $100 Cdn per night, that's only $67 US
It also has a similar speaker line-up as DevCon (and in fact some of the sessions are identical to those presented at DevCon). And as far as hanging out with other developers, smaller conferences like FoxTeach are much more intimate (you can see the same group of people several times and get to know them better than you can at DevCon, IMO).
Of course, if you can afford the cost and time, going to both is the best bet!
Doug
