I think the answer to your question might be right in front of you. When you ran the object from the command line, you forced a requery. By default, MM loads views with no data. You have to force a =REQUERY() to pull down the information (or use one of the auto requery modes). Since there isn't any data, it's a pretty good indication you need a requery.
