Shouldn't take that much code, and you don't have to add a logical field to the actual table if you use a cursor or (better yet) a view for the grid.rowsource. (Although it'd take some coding to make Shift-Click select all the rows between the last selection and the current row.)

Assuming this was responding mainly to my negative reaction, I think I should apologize for saying "why would you do that?" I realized as I was posting my message that there were obviously good reasons to want to do it with a grid.

By the way, you lost me with your Brit colloquialism ... I think I know what Brits call swings and roundabouts (playground equipment), but I don't get the phrase "it's swings and roundabouts." Does that mean similar difficulty and similar results whichever solution you choose? (For which the equivalent American phrase would be "six of one, half a dozen of the other.") Oh, I hope the term "Brit" doesn't offend you...(maybe I should write disclaimers for a living.)
