You don't do ANYTHING.... any data acess will take place in the forms session. What people were telling you was for YOU to manually see it, you have to make sure you are looking at the correct session, and not the default ones.
Why not put a grid or some controls on your form and bing them to the fields to see if you are getting some data?

Be more specific. What you should do is have the ENTIRE framework up and running as opposed to what you are doing. Most of CB reqquires everything to be up and running. Run your ap with DO MAIN at the command window. Pull down the dev menu and suspend, then you should be able to run your form with doform('yourformclass') without error.
