This is a case where table-related events are important. There is no BeforeRuleValidation Event. This IMHO, makes Row Buffering almost useless since you cannot trap things before field/row validations fire. Of course, you can elminate this problem by using Local Views....

With regard to validation code, tieing any of it to the UI sends chills up my spine. As a compromise, I would advocate an n-tier approach were hooks and a VFP DLL is used...
