>To clarify my previous post (since Pierre said he populated his var), I'm guessing that since he's got one var with a ? and one without, he filled in the var without the ? and expected to be asked for the value of the other. Is that true, Pierre? Sorry if I made a mistake.

Hi all,
Rich is correct on the first point here. The "?var" essentially works like macro substitution. Note that if var has a valid date value, "var" and "?var" will work exactly the same way when the SQL statement gets processed.
I suspect Rich is also correct on the second point. Pierre will have to elaborate on this one. Thanks Marc for pointing out the "select *.." and column creation rule thing to me. I was sure I had read somewhere that that was not allowed, but I am most likely confused...happens all the time!
