>Where can I see a list of the ASP octal error message codes shown on the browser page and their plain English translations ?
>I have a table that stores errors in VFP. It usually grabs these and the MESSAGE() is very useful. For some various reasons, some ASP's throw an error that does NOT get captured below in VFP.
Octal error messages? I knew there would be trouble from those DEC people Microsoft pulled in for developing NT ;). Probably hexadecimal.

I've noticed that many think that hexadecimal is a number format that computers understand. What computers understand is binary (ones and zeroes). Hexadecimal is for programmers to easily read values. A hexadecimal digit maps directly to a nybble (from jargon file: nybble /nib'l/ (alt. `nibble') [from v. `nibble' by analogy with `bite' => `byte'] n. Four bits; one hex digit; a half-byte. Though `byte' is now techspeak, this useful relative is still jargon. Compare byte, crumb, tayste, dynner; see also bit, nickle, deckle. Apparently this spelling is uncommon in Commonwealth Hackish, as British orthography suggests the pronunciation /ni:'bl/. )
