>I've heard that the maximum size of a dbf is 1 Gig. Does anybody know if this relates to a single .dbf, the size of a datebase, i.e. .dbf+ .cdx +.fpt; or whether it relates to the total size of a dbf in memory at one time, or what? Also what happens when this limit is reached?

The max in FP 2.x is 1 gb if there is no structural CDX and 2 gb if there is one. It is the maximum for a single file, that is the dbf, the fpt can also be 2 gb as can teh cdx. If you reach that size you will get a foxpro error when opening the table.
