Thanks for your reply, you are ver kind, first of all i´m using vfp5.0, the form i'm using was generated with the wizard from a file with numeric fields, if i open the generator for those fields, i can see that the field is a textbox set as numeric with input mask like '###,###.##' or '999,999.99' or ###,##9,99', when i get to the field in runtime, despite i'm using select on entry, if i move to the left or click with the mouse, it starts editing the field from the left like this {987 0.00} being 0.00 the default value, but when i hit the tab key it results 9,870.00 (even if i move to other field with the mouse). it only works if i hit enter. if the default value was 1.13 if i enter other number like 123 the final value would be 1,231.13 instead of 123.00
