FoxFix is a third-party (non-Microsoft) (shareware?) program which attempts to fix certain corruptions which frequently happen to DBFs and FPTs when an application, workstation, or server shuts down unexpectedly. You can search for it using any Web search engine. There are several programs with a similar purpose here in the files section. (The filing cabinet icon in the left frame.)
