I had debated adding "is null" and "is not null" operators to SFQuery -- while useful, lots of users wouldn't know what "null" is. However, your question prompted me to go ahead and add this feature (I called the operators "is unknown" and "is not unknown", but you can edit the INCLUDE file where these strings are defined if you want to use a different expression).
