Can anyone tell me what are the advantage of using "Foundation Read" in Visual Foxpro? I had a reference book called "VISUAL FOXPRO 3 DEVELOPER'S GUIDE - BY JEB LONG". The book had mention that "Foundation Read was created as an attempt to support an event-driven interface in FoxPro 2.x ... Visual Foxpro easily supports totally modeless operations ... you will never need to use a Foundation READ in Visual Foxpro". However, I had spoken with some senior Xbase programmers, they said Foundation Read require less Hardware resource. If my clients do not purchase sophisticated high-end machines, event read will slow down the performance if multiple windows are opened, but foundation read won't! Is it true?
