If you open a general memo field, in your edit menu you have the insert object bar now available. Go to that insert object bar and for instance insert a word document but before you click on ok, check the box 'display as icon'. Your document will now display as an icon in your olebound or in the browse windows.

I am trying to find a way to do this by code and not using the insert object menu.
