There is actually a base class called Dataenvironment. You cannot create such a class in the Class Designer, but you can create one in a PRG. Codebook does this.

You could download the latest codebook from www.flashcreative.com and look at the cdataenv.prg for creating dataenvironments. You could also look at the cutils.vcx which has a class called cDeLoader that can be put onto a form and will instantiate a dataenvironment class.
