>>>I don't really expect VFP to make it automatic, but just out of curiosity, did you do it by right-clicking on the classlib in the Project Manager (Other) tab, and choosing Rename? There's a teeny chance at least that project's references would then be updated.
>>
>>This doesn't work. When renaming through the project manager, it informs you that it will cause problems.
>>
>>>Also, if you try to rebuild any app using that classlib, won't you get a "can't find this reference, [Cancel][Locate...][Ignore][Retry]" dialog? That oughta reset that project's references.
>>>
>>
>>This will allow the project build, but will not save the location in the forms. To get the forms to see the new location, they need to be opened in the form designer, another miniscule change imposed (so the form will save when closing), and closed. This reference should stick.

>Thanks. I'm sure when I start working more with classes, I'll decide at some point I chose some stupid names and want to change them.
I have a production database at one site called Temptest.dbc. This was the first app I ever wrote in VFP, and I started with this dbc name, and got so far before I remembered I ought to change the name, that it became impractical.
Talk about an unfortunate name for an important file.
Maybe one saturday I'll change it.
