I've nver seen this error, and can't find a reference to MXBASE.DLL anywhere on any of my systems, Win98 or WinNT. I assume that you're trying to install VFP from the distribution CD; can you tell us more about what you're doing to install it (are you installing it by itself, or as a part of Visual Studio 97; what install options are you selecting, where you're trying to install it (standard location or a different directory, especially if it's a network directory) and what patches to Win98 have been applied to your system to date from Microsft's Windows Update page.)
