The company I am working for has recently made the same move from
cc:Mail 6.0 to another workwroup software.

They chose (or rather were imposed this choice from the corporation level)
Outlook.

I am not familiar with Lotus Notes, but Outlook is an OLE automation
server that lets you do wonderful things with e-mail (and other parts
of workgroup automation like tasks, calendar and contacts).

I have done DDE with cc-Mail and it was not always easygoing...

I strongly suggest the use of Outlook if you want to integrate e-mail or
other workgroup features into your VFP application. It is part of the
MS Office family, thus also integrates with all other MS Office software.

I have a VB-like help file for Outlook if you want to have a look
at some of the features.
