I started using Mabry's Internet tools a couple of years ago and wouldn't dream of doing this without them.

The whole suite includes a RAS tool for establishing connections, plus an FTP tool.

If you mean by "Serial" that you will not be going through the Internet, you can do that too. I have a Windows NT server with four modems attached, but which is not on the net. Clients dial directly into this machine and transfer files all of the time. If you are not running NT, then you can purchase PLUS! for Win 95 and allow a single incoming line to accept calls and use TCP/IP.
