I know all the discussion of buffering, etc. is interesting, but since you need to get the system "out the door" I concur with Marc G.'s suggestion: build local cursors for each person doing data ( order? ) entry, and do all editting in that local ( sys(2023) ) copy of the data -- no chance to accidently share information.
