Philippe,
This is what I've done for years:
Put the relative path of the BMP in the Picture property like so:

="MyGraphic.bmp"
or
="bmps\MyGraphic.bmp"

- or whatever the path is relative to the project.

.. be sure to include the = and quotes.
Add the BMPS to the project in the Other tab.
It works great!
