Then I would suggest complaining very loudly to the Solution Provider folks and press them for an answer....

>Hiya JVP --
>
>Oh, no doubt that this was distinct. But what about the attendent promotion that says "Buy VB,VC,VI, or VJ and get NT Workstation free"?
>
>I have to disagree with you on impact. While this particular mobile is pretty stupid and will end up in a lot of wastebaskets, I have already had people in my firm point at it and ask me why, if VFP is a strategic tool, it's not included. And I have no answer.
>
>If I am trying to promote a solution using VFP solo or VFP with the other VS tools or SQL Server, I need every amount of help I can get from MS and that definitely means that promos for VS that mention individual languages in VS *have* to include VFP. Why? Because visibility counts a LOT when trying to sell things.
>
>So....while you are right that this does squat to VFP's credibility insofar as VFP developers are concerned, every ommission or slight does damage VFP's credibility to the general user public because we have less to point to and, yes, John, marketing COUNTS.

>>The Solution Provider Program is a distinct group, totally separated from the Visual Studio Folks. I will bet you they went ahead and did this without consulting 1 person in VS marketing. I know Robert. And, I know he would not tell the SP folks, "Hey, don't include VFP"
>>
>>Personally, I could care less if VFP was/was not in some stupid promotional item, such as a mobile, that will surely find its way to the wastebasket.
>>
>>This does squat to VFP's credibility.
>>
>>NO BIG DEAL!!!
