It sounds like the initial connection might be caused by your network settings on your system. Check in your Network settings -> TCP/IP Properties in the DNS Configuration. Is DNS enabled? Is the IP address that is causing the router to connect in the DNS search order list? Are you using a static IP address on every machine or DHCP?
