you could assign the field name as say AAA, and put in the Caption the name of the field you would like to call it say 'MainDatabaseURN', this will display the caption name in Browse, reports and forms. BUT (as normal) youll have to make your coding to the assigned field name, you will also have to keep a seperate table to record the field names and captions so you can re-establish them afterwards.
