I remember that I've read what the significance is, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. Something to do with the occurrence of some astrological phenomenon, as well as I can remember. It's mentioned on some of the web sites which talk about what Julian dates are. I remember when I did my search for that info some months ago that some of them specifically mentioned which date xBase languages counted from, and why.
