I'm having problems getting my report to number pages properly.

I want the report to increment the page number (_pageno) while still on the same group and reset the page number to 1 on the start of a new group. My group details are set so that all boxes are checked:
reset to 1 on group break, reprint group headings, and break page on new group. I've put the _pageno variable in the page header band.
The first page gives page number 1, the second page which is a continuation of the group prints a page number of 1 again and the third page which is also a continuation of the group, prints a page number of 2. So I have page 1, page 1, page 2. For the next group, I'm fine - it resets to 1 and continues with 2, 3 etc.
I've tried stipulating in the _pageno variable itself that it should break on the group break but that doesn't seem to stay with the report.

There's something really strange here since we've done this a thousand times and for this report it doesn't seem to work.

I'm using VFP 6.0 and Mere Mortals Framework 4.02

Any help is appreciated as soon as possible.
