I've had this once with a timer wich was checkin something. When a certain state was reached i called the setfocus method of an object from within the timer event of the timer. But when the focus was on a control with a Valid event, the described error occurred. I've solved it by using a workarround.

Tip: You can use the coverage profiler to check your program flow.
