Hi colleague FoxPro Programmer.
I am sending this e-mail to all Independent Consultants and Consulting Companies in the South Florida Area to warn you about a potential customer that will not pay for your work.

His name is John Wood and he owns a pathetic little company out of Tequesta in Jupiter.
The name of his company is "Compu Advisory Services"

I am the third or fourth programmer that falls for his game and I just thought I should warn as many others as I can.

Basically he wants you to work on his "FIX-IT" program, (A car repair Shop application written in VFP50), and he tries to get you to do as much work as he can without paying.

Of course, programmers drop the project after they realize this but by then they already put some work into it and this fellow is getting the program done little by little without paying or paying too little for it.

In my particular case, he contacted me through the UT, and I have been working on his project for about three months now, he owes me a total of above $5,000.00 and I have been able to yank out of him only $2,000.00.
I gave him an ultimatum two days ago that if I didn't receive payment for the amount owed soon I was gonna stop working on the project. He said fine, then I'll get somebody else....
I just don't want him screwing anybody else, he is a grumpy and frustrated old man that treats programmers like dirt because he says that all of us screw him up !!

Anyway, be aware if he contacts you !!!
And If you want to take the job, Ask for a substantial retainer before even begin !!!
That's what I should've done !!
