Three or four days? WOW! What does it do (just a brief description to satisfy my curiousity)?

I would pack the tables periodically. Or do something like blank a record instead of deleting it and instead of adding records, fill-in the blanks ones (if there is a blank record). Whatever works in your situation. I would test different methods for efficiency.
