I think I had a SetFocus in the control's Init event, and later called that control's Init from within the Valid of another control. Pretty confusing - was tough to track. I would check your program flow.

It goes as far as to the extent that if a valid of one control runs another form, it will error out with the same message if there's a SetFocus somewhere in that form's methods.
