A birding collegue in South Africa is about to develop a software for birding. Since I have done the same thing in VFP, I am interested in your views on his approach.
The data will be stored in a Microsoft Jet (.mdb) relational database file, which has been created with MS Access 97. A program developed with MS Visual C++ 6 will access this database through the MFC DAO wrappers.
The database will at maximum contain 50K records.
You can find more info about his project on his site
http://www.icon.co.za/~wraggs/noframes/db.htmwhere you also can se an Entity Relationship Diagram.
Does anyone have any comments on stability, performance and so on? I have some thoughts about it, but I want to confirm them before I give them to him.
