I would not have known to get the updates since the
VB Service Pack 2 says it's inclusive. So now I've got
the following:

The CD
VB Service Pack 2 - VS6sp2C.exe - 16.3 Mb (!)
Updated Gallery with new Foundation Classes - vfp6gal.exe - 441 Kb
Active X Control Updater - actxconv.exe - 115 Kb
New Setup Wizard - vfp6swiz.exe - 264 Kb
Y2K Fix for the New Setup Wizard (?) - y2kvfpjt.exe - 767 Kb

Next steps are to install them and see if it helps. I do hope
this record is of some potential use to someone in the future.
This resource is certainly helpful, it adds to the value of the
