Reg,

Very good point about promoting our favourites. Unfortunately, unless you have money to spare, buying all the commercial frameworks and downloading the free ones, then learning each one to a point that its advantages and disadvantages are apparent and then making a choice as to which one to go for, isn't really a viable proposition, to say nothing of the time involved.

Fortunately there are forums like this around for us all to contribute our views and opinions so that the choice of framework is a more informed one. Still, unless someone puts together a complete set of features for each product so that they can be compared on as near a level playing field as possible, even this sort of discussion is severely limited.

I would venture to suggest that the choice between the various OO Frameworks and the OO RAD Frameworks is difficult because they are all good tools written by experienced developers.

In the end it may be that you choose the one whose feature set covers the type of development you are intending to do. If at a later stage, the framework you have doesn't suit a particular development then you may look at the other frameworks and perhaps buy another one that suits that project better than the one you have, rather than trying to shoehorn the project into a framework which is not suited to it. A bit like not writing an operating system in VFP and not writing a database application in C++. You use the correct tool for the job.
Regards,
