When you open Network Neighborhood:

--Can you see your own machine listed?

--Can you see other machines listed?

Under the TCP/IP protocol:

--On the NetBIOS page, is NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled?

--What is your WINS provider?

--Is the IP address assigned dynamically or statically? If dynamic, what is your DHCP server?

--Is TCP/IP for the NIC bound to the Microsoft Networking client?

--Is TCP/IP for the NIC bound to the File and Print Sharing Service?

--Are there entries for TCP/IP for both the NIC and Dial-Up networking?
