Unfortunately, it isn't that simple. The Init method is documented as having that exact behavior; a method or event can return pretty much anything you want or need it to. Init's special behavior is unique AFAIK.

If you're creating the form via CREATEOBJ(), you need to check the state of the object variable on return - the variable is created as an object type, but it is set to NULL by returning .F. (I found that in the Hacker's Guide To Visual FoxPro 6.0; I'd recommend picking up a copy...)
