Title:
Can't save changes: Invalid File Descriptor Error 1111
Anyone else seen this error? The help just says call MS.
Using VFP6. Problem did not happen under similar conditions previous to Friday.
Working in my private directory on the server, making any small change to a program or report. (Maybe other file types too.) My machine is NT 4.0 and the network runs NetWare 4.x with Client 32.
Save. Message appears. "File access denied." Click OK. Get Error 1111 and have to kill VFP6. Go back in. The changes were actually saved, so there must be some other update it refers to.
Copy whole thing to hard drive. No more save problems, but save takes 30 seconds. My machine is slow, but not that slow, and should be faster on hard drive than on network. Don't know if slowness is related to network problem.
See quote from Will Fleming describing similar problem, posted elsewhere on 2/10:
"We now have another problem, we've changed dev machines from windows 95 to Windows NT 4.0 with NTFS, and have a problem talking to the NetWare 4.x with Client 32 2.0. When I try to save modifications, I get the message "File is read only". If I create a new project the first saves are fine, but any subsequent saves I get an error saying that the file is read only. I have verified this only occurs on the files/projects placed on the Network. Anything local is fine."
Thanks for your input.
