I'm interested by your conversation, since I got the same problem. It's true Access uses the local driveeven with a network DB. As MS says, next version of MS Jet Engine (4.0, shipped with Office/Access 2000) will allow considering Jet Engine as a virtual machine SQL Server, and so launch queries onto the server, NT for example (!) if the DB resides on it.
To anticipate a little, I've got an idea. What about storing the query result into a text file onto the server disk, and keep it back via the network. Does this can correct the local cache problem ?
>Sylvain, could you test that ? I'd like to know if my idea is good or not.
>On my side, I've tried everything : query and VB code optimisation, try to store the data onto the network, and queries onto a local DB, compact DB often and keep it oprimized (index, relations) : nothing good. The 10BaseT networl isn't faster...

Hope it's not so bad english, Virusim. Glad you did not ask me for singaporian... HTH

By the way, and this is directed to other users as well : what about translating freely important threads to main idioms other than english : spanish, french, asiatic ones ? I send a message to M. Fournier today about this.
