Like Mat mentioned, I've also found the delayed instantiation of controls on a pageframe can help in a situation like yours. I use this built in functionality in Mere Mortals, but the new VFP6 Help contains info on how to do it also. See Chapter 15 "Optimizing Applications" subtopic "Optimizing Forms and Controls". This technique allows the form to pop up faster since the controls on a pageframe aren't instantiated until Page Activate. HTH
