Use ExtractIcon or ExtractIconEx API functions.

>I am attempting to implement the same functionality as Windows Explorer where the icon associated with a file extension is displayed on the ListView panel (this is based on its registry setting). I have no problem extracting the values needed from the registry however, most DefaultIcon values are pointing to DLLs where an extry may look like this:
