The Format pad is dynamic, that is it is only there when focus is in something that the Format options apply to, like the command window. If you see the commadn window while running your app, thenhte apps code has finished and returned to the command window (the command window is gone whenever there is code running). Seeing teh command window is usually a sign of a missing READ EVENTS to hold up your app, and when you build an exe it will load and exit immediately without the user having any opportunity to use the app.

Keep the focus out of the command window and there will not be a format option in the system menu.
