>I have a logical field that displays nicely as a check box on a form. This form is for viewing only, no editing, so I marked the control enabled=.F. I would like the color of the box to look as it does when enabled for easier reading, but when I change the disabled forecolor to black, it does not apear very clear and the box itself remains gray. I know I can get rid of the caption and use a label for the text, but is there any other way to do this and to get the check box itself to look the way it does when enabled?

judy,
Instead of setting the enabled property, return .f. from the when() method. This will prevent users from gaining focus to the checkbox. Now you can color it any way you want by setting back- and forecolors.
