Thanks for your help. I actually had tried this,
but when I issued the "do form" it blocked and never got to
the "read events" code. If I issued the read first, it blocked
and the main form was never displayed. The problem is actually
solved by making the formset modeless, issuing the do form
which is now non-blocking, and finally the read statement. My
menu system is no longer greyed out!!!
