Linda, Make sure that:
1. Temp type files are being run from local hard drive (cursor, merge files, etc.)
2. You are editing memvars, not actual records (locking contention)?
3. I found some refresh functions on screens have a significant impact on a network vs. a local hard disk (array's into popups, etc.)
Just some thoughts. I found most of these using a network protocol analyzer and testing what was happening.
FYI for everyone else, VFP 3.0 popup function actually calls data into an array 3 TIMES! I verified this with my protocol analyzer.
