I totally agree with you. MS marketing of Visual Studio as an integrated development platform is half-baked. Everyone awaits the day of one (and only one) IDE with your choice of programming lanaguage. I think the JAVA promise is more realistic with the idea of one core language and choice of IDE.

Pick a language to master, and then choose an IDE...
