You confusing something here. You can have the column bound to data or you can have the control in the column bound to data. Either way there is data binding in the column. When you bind the column to a controlsource and you also bind the control in the column you are telling VFP to show the name in this column but show the number in the control in this column and to update the name from the column but also to update the number form the control in the column, is there any wonder that VFP gets confused on you.
You must use one or the other, either use the controlsource of the column and Bound .T. or use the cotnrolsource of the control and Bound .F.
