>>Does anyone use a check-off sheet to verify user-interface and/or basic functionality to validate delivery of a system. Recently a contractor performed some VB programming for my company. The contractor did have a rough design document and seemed to understand the data model. But, the system he developed does not look good at all. Poor user-interface design and basic functionality fails. I wuz wundering if anyone had a check-off sheet that they used to inspect systems developed by contractors. I plan on creating my own, but I was looking for input before I got started. Basic things like Tab Order, Add, Edit, Delete, Cascading Referential Integrity, ... are the topics I will be including. Any comments are welcome. Thanks!

>Arnon has recommend an EXCELLENT book. In addition, look at "The Windows Interface Guidelines for Software Design" from Microsoft Press, ISBN 1-55615-679-0. This is where you will find the "official" Microsoft guidelines.

That sounds like the ticket! One can never go wrong following MS. (;-.
