This thread has nailed (to continue with the house metaphor), what I've been thinking for some time. Just am I'm beginning to be capable with VFP, we are told we need more stuff.

The house example is right on track in many ways. I've built the whole house, doing the concrete work, framing, shingling, sheet rock, trim; the whole thing, and believe me, there were parts that weren't very efficient or done very well. I have framed about 100 houses, so that part is done very very well, especially the roofs. I don't have the talent nor experience to do some of the tasks well. If need be, I can muddle through. Isn't that what is being said here? If you want a house framed, come to me. For the rest, see other subcontractors.

However, it just so happens, that I can do everything I need to do with VFP for now.
